When is a thong not a thong?

Flip-flops, zoris, Hawaii chappal, thongs, Japanese sandals, or jandals are an open type of outdoor footwear, consisting of a flat sole held loosely on the foot by a Y-shaped strap, like a thin thong, that passes between the first (big) and second toes and around either side of the foot. Flip-flops may also be held to the foot with a single strap over the front of the foot rather than a thong. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flip-flops 29/05/2012)

Regardless of what we may call them, Sonja's Thong quilt was finished this week.

This was how it started. It's a really busy print, so I wanted to quilt a pattern that would enhance the shapes but not distract from the pattern.  I chose to use a bright cerise quilting cotton.

The pink Hue is from the backing fabric.

The reverse.  The design is really difficult to see on the backing fabric as it's so bright!
A close up of the design.  Each design is independent!

I removed the colour from this photo so that the design is easier to see.

Baltimore Medallion Lap Quilt

This beautiful quilt, by Anne, came my way to quilt this week.   Anne asked for a custom quilting design to complement her lovely design.  This is a beautiful soft custom quilt!
