Karen's Gail Pan Quilt (version 2)

Ok, so those who know me very well know that I am a total perfectionist when it comes to my customer's quilting.

Recently Karen, who lives in Papua New Guinea left 2 quilts with me to custom quilt.  And then I got the FLU - big-time - TWICE!  Between the two bouts of FLU (and it was so bad it deserves capital letters) I spent nearly 10 days in bed over 4 weeks.  Now I know why people used to die of the FLU.  However I got one quilt finished for Karen.  The second one is on my machine.
Here's the original quilt top.

Gail, Me and Karen's Quilt.  Sorry about my awful picture - I am NOT photogenic!
Just after one bout of the FLU (still capital letters needed), Button Tree Quilts and Sewing Essentials from Mareeba hosted their annual stitching retreat.  This year's guest teachers were Helen Stubbings and Gail Pan herself!  Of course, I took the opportunity to get a photo of the quilt with Gail for Karen.  Gail said that she preferred the colours Karen had used to those in her original...  Go Karen!!
Much better!  Sorry about your VERY long arms now Gail :)
For your viewing pleasure here are some photos of the finished quilt.
