Panel Class 22nd April 2012

On Sunday 22nd April I taught another class on how to free motion quilt pre-printed panels.  Once again everyone was very happy with their results and I can't wait to see all the finished items!

Gotta get that tension right Leona!

Mary loved the class so much yesterday (Kaleidoscopes) she came back again today!

A wonderful moon, Mary!

A class full of happy free motion quilters

Kaleidoscope Magic Class

On Saturday 21st April, I met with some ladies at Button Tree Quilts, Cairns, to teach them how to make kaleidoscope quilts.  Some chose to make a queen size whilst others chose an (almost) single bed sized throw.  All ladies came in to choose their fabric separately.  However, they all chose the same one!
Getting ready to cut the fabric!  How exciting :)
The morning was spent cutting and planning and in the afternoon everyone got to play with their sewing machines.  Well done everyone!

Panel Quilting Fun!

On Saturday 14th April, five ladies came to Button Tree Quilts to have some quilting fun!  They learned how to 'read' their quilt panel and also where to get inspiration designs from.
Vicki and Marg- getting Jiggy with it!

Ellen and Marissa checking out their work
Everyone did amazing work!  One of the lovely ladies was heard to say "Oh My God - I LOVE THIS!.  I'm never watching TV again!"

WOW! What a success!

Well done everyone.  See you at the next class!
Very busy ladies!

Vicki did the most wonderful work.  Well done Vicki!

Kaleidoscope's everywhere!

Before Quilting
After Quilting
This is a customer's quilt I've had on my machine this week.  A four-patch Kaleidoscope.  My customer had requested an allover 'what-ever-you-feel-like' pattern, and we had agreed on chocolate coloured.  However when I had quilted half of it, it looked awful!!  Consequently I ripped the whole lot out, and re-quilted a soft custom design diagonally.  Introducing "Diagonal Daisies"!
Diagonal Diasies.  Each Daisy is the size of the 4-patch block.
Not a great picture, but the reverse of the quilt.

New pattern ... Introducing Flower 'Pow'er!

Below are some photos of Flower 'Pow'er.  This quilt is perfect for a single bed for a special young lady in your life!  The lovely bright prints by Debbie Valencia for David Textiles are just gorgeous to sew with.  The pattern will be available from Kate at  Button Tree Quilts very soon.
